Brief: To design and make a fishing lure.
Context: Write a context for this project. The context is your problem
statement. Ensure that you do not list solutions in your context. Include
background information to support the project.
Possible

outlined in the context. Ensure that your solutions are strong and fully
developed.
Design
Considerations: List all of the things you had to
consider for this project. Ensure that your design considerations are strong
and fully developed.
Detail
Design:
1.
Cut a piece of the ¾” steel
strapping so it contains five large holes (there will be four smaller holes
between the larger ones).
2.
Cut two pieces of the ½” copper
strapping so they each contain five holes.
3.
Cut two pieces of brazing rod
two inches long each and bend them in half so they form a “V” shape.
4.
Sandwich the steel strapping
between the two copper pieces and place one of the pieces of brazing rod
through the first set of holes. Place the second piece of brazing rod through
the third set of holes.
5.
Tighten the brazing rods firmly
using a vice. Now, you can bend the lure to any shape you desire.
6.
Put a split ring on each end of
the lure and attach the treble hook at one end.
Tools
and Materials: ½” copper strapping, ¾” steel
strapping, two number 5 split rings, a number 4 treble hook, 4” of brazing rod,
tin snips, pliers, and a vice
Commissioning: Were you successful in this project when you tried it out?
Evaluation:
Did this project work as you expected it to?
Successes? Problems?
Reflection: Did you enjoy this project? What were you most proud of? What would
you do differently next time? Expand on each of your reflection statements.
